Holland America Line and Seabourn drop vax requirement for most cruises

Carnival Corp. brands Holland America Line and Seabourn will relax their vaccination and testing requirements next month for most voyages of fewer than 15 nights.

On Sept. 7, the brands will nix precruise Covid testing requirements for vaccinated guests. They will allow unvaccinated guests to sail, although those guests must provide results of a self-test or medically supervised test taken within three days of embarkation.

The new rules do not apply to itineraries that include Canada, Australia and Greece or to full Panama Canal transits; trans-ocean sailings; and other select voyages.

Protocols for cruises of 16 nights or longer, Panama Canal voyages, trans-ocean and other select sailings require all guests to submit to a medically supervised Covid-19 test within three days of embarkation and provide a negative result. All guests over 5 years old must be vaccinated or request an exemption.

Two other Carnival Corp. brands — Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises — have relaxed their vaccination and pre-cruise testing requirements, as have Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
