Princess Cruises® Ships ready for the Holidays

2013-12-04

The holiday season is always a joyful time aboard Princess® ships around the world, and this year is no exception.
“Tis the season to leave work and cold weather behind, and instead truly relax and enjoy holiday festivities,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises® president. “Our shipboard teams make sure passengers can make the most of seasonal celebrations, with favorite things such as our annual snowfall in the Atrium, plus new traditions.”
In early December, Princess® decks the ships during a new tree-lighting ceremony. This year they’re also introducing a holiday variety show and a reindeer race event on select cruises. Kids take part in everything from caroling to cookie decorating and receive a gift – and a visit – from the Santa Claus himself. Chefs honor the many tastes of the season and will serve up several delicious feasts. Passengers can view classic holiday films on Movies Under the Stars®, participate in a “gingerbread challenge” and just generally enjoy spending this festive time together.
Ships also host fun-filled New Year’s Eve parties to count down to 2014 with upbeat music, confetti and a balloon drop. On New Year’s Day, football fans can watch college bowl games (as available by satellite) on Movies Under the Stars® or in shipboard lounges.
